ITAO's Xinxue (Shawn) Qu received a Notre Dame Faculty Research Support Program - Initiation Grant (FRSP-IG) for the study, “Digital privacy issues on mobile platforms.” This Notre Dame Research grant program provides seed funding to established faculty initiating new research or to faculty in the early stages of their research programs.


M&O's John Busenbark received the 2021 Lawrence R. James Early Career Award from the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management. This prestigious and highly selective award "recognizes a scholar who has made distinguished contributions to research methods research, practice, and education during the individual’s early career stage (defined as within 7 years of receiving the Ph.D)." 


Good luck to Charlice Hurst, who is participating today in a workshop as part of the Higgins Labor Program's "Just Wage Forum." Charlice Hurst has been working with the Higgins Labor Program on this issue for several years now. M&O concurrent instructor Connie Mick is the respondent. 


Marketing's Emily Garbinsky received the Joe & Gina Prochaska Family Teaching Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in preparing students to be leaders in the field of business and the recipient was selected by the Class of 2021.


Marketing's Vamsi Kanuri was selected as a winner of the 2020 Journal of Marketing Outstanding Reviewer Award. Vamsi was chosen for the recognition from the journal's 200-person Editorial Review Board based on his review workload and the constructiveness, thoroughness and timeliness of his reviews.
Vamsi will receive the award during the JM Editorial Review Board/AE meeting in August.

A paper by Accountancy's Erik Beardsley entitled "What's my target? Individual analyst forecasts and last-chance earnings management" coauthored with John Robinson at Texas A&M and Paul Wong at UC-Davis was accepted for publication at the Journal of Accounting & Economics.


A paper by Finance's Zhi Da titled "Hedging demand and market intraday momentum" was published in the Journal of Financial Economics


A paper by ITAO's Daewon Sun titled "Impact of Organizational Structure on Development Strategy under Equity‐Based Incentives" was published in Production and Operations Management.


A paper by M&O's Dean Shepherd titled "Grounding Business Models: Cognition, Boundary Objects, and Business-model Change" was accepted for publication by  Academy of Management Review.


A paper by M&O's Nathan Meikle titled "Amplifying Voice in Organizations" is in-press with the Academy of Management Journal.

M&O's Amanda McKendree recently participated in a Communication Matters podcast to discuss the effects of the pandemic on professional associations.  She address the transition to virtual conference platforms and our ability to use data from the platform to inform future directions of the association.  


Angela Logan served as an invited panelist on the Notre Dame Black Faculty and Staff Association's presentation "Advocating for Diverse Teams: A Panel Discussion." This cross-disciplinary panel brought together senior leaders from academia, administration, and athletics at Notre Dame to discuss best practices for creating diverse teams and emphasizing diversity in the workplace. Sandra Vera Muñoz and co-authors presented their paper, "Climate Risk Materiality and Firm Risk," during the inaugural "SASB Alliance: Academic Series,” which took place virtually March 4-5. The global event was attended by academicians as well as practitioners from the Big 4 accounting firms, Moody's, Morningstar, Aon, Glass Lewis and others in the ESG investing and consulting industries.



Joan McClendon gave the talk "Loving your Neighbor" on Martin Luther King Day at Bethel University's chapel service.
