The Spirits of Learning
ITAO professor Katie Wowak recently took a group of MSM students on an experiential learning trek to Round Barn Winery, Distillery and Brewery. Round Barn CFO Chris Stubbs walked the students through the production process of three different items they produce: wine, vodka and beer. The students compared and contrasted different production processes and identified the supply chain principles they had covered in Katie's Process Analytics course.
One student remarked, "It was helpful to add a visual component to the concepts we learned in class, from various methods of inventory management to the importance of automation. I enjoyed the opportunity to travel to a semi-local business and see how our course content manifests itself in a real-life business setting.”
