M&O's Amanda McKendree recently participated in a Communication Matters podcast to discuss the effects of the pandemic on professional associations.  She address the transition to virtual conference platforms and our ability to use data from the platform to inform future directions of the association.  


Angela Logan served as an invited panelist on the Notre Dame Black Faculty and Staff Association's presentation "Advocating for Diverse Teams: A Panel Discussion." This cross-disciplinary panel brought together senior leaders from academia, administration, and athletics at Notre Dame to discuss best practices for creating diverse teams and emphasizing diversity in the workplace. Sandra Vera Muñoz and co-authors presented their paper, "Climate Risk Materiality and Firm Risk," during the inaugural "SASB Alliance: Academic Series,” which took place virtually March 4-5. The global event was attended by academicians as well as practitioners from the Big 4 accounting firms, Moody's, Morningstar, Aon, Glass Lewis and others in the ESG investing and consulting industries.



Joan McClendon gave the talk "Loving your Neighbor" on Martin Luther King Day at Bethel University's chapel service.

 


Marketing's Vamsi Kanuri presented “Forging collaborations with Industry for Academic Research” during the Research Talk Series hosted by the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, on January 7.


Finance's Jeff Bergstrand delivered the keynote lecture at the U.S. International Trade Commission (virtual) conference on "Recent Advances in Trade-Policy Modeling and Applications in Emerging Areas." The title of his lecture was "Future Directions for Trade-Policy Modeling."


Finance's Huaizhi Chen gave a virtual presentation on "Don’t Take Their Word For It: The Misclassification of Bond Mutual Funds" at the European Finance Association's conference last month.

John Rooney, Martin Johnson, Cassie Smith and Debby Herczeg participated in a Poets & Quants CentreCourt virtual event on Tuesday, June 2. John and Debby were on panels with Martin and Cassie answering questions in the chat room. This event was for prospective MBA candidates.

Admissions' Debby Herczeg presented at the Forte Launch event in Chicago on Feb. 28 at KPMG. She participated in the admissions panel and was a round table discussion leader. Around 70 women attended.
