In an article about sustainability efforts on campus, Scholastic interviewed M&O's Jessica McManus Warnell about her course in sustainable business.


Local news outlet WSBT22 reached out to experts, including finance's Jason Reed, to speak about the impact coronavirus is having on the stock market.


The Wall Street Journal's piece on the disruption to free trading caused by the novel coronavirus referenced research by finance professors Zhi Da and Pengjie (Paul) Gao, which found that Google’s public search data can be used to beat the stock market by as much as 10 percentage points per year.


MBA Students Interterm Project Helps More People With Disabilities Find Employment
Two MBA students made the local news in Albany, NY, for a project that they worked on over spring break as part of the MBA Interterm course. Euget (Zevi) Fefoame (MBA ’20) and Shraddha Goyal (MBA ‘20) partnered with New York State Industries for the Disabled to create solutions for employing and retaining more people with disabilities. As part of the project, they spent time with the 50 individuals employed at the Center for Disability Services’ mail fulfillment center.

“They’ve looked at a lot of different industries we may not be capitalizing on now,” said Maureen O’Brien, NYSID CEO, in the news story. “They have a different viewpoint of where business is going in the future and where we may be able to really fit.”

“More and more, the things they have done in the past like mailing, for example, with technology is going to go out of date,” said Zevi. “We are thinking of things in the area of customer service, in the area of IT, all of those new things that are coming.”

The IDEA Center profiled marketing's Joe Urbany who wrote the book on positioning companies for success before launching Vennli, a company that researches customer choices using data on past purchasing behavior and intent to buy.
