From Cassie SmithChris Grenert and I would like to send a special kudos to Maggie, Rachel, Amy, and Denayia in Faculty Support for mailing out "Grow the Good" items to our 140 domestic MBA admits to use during their upcoming Virtual Welcome Event. This will go a long way as we work to yield these students during uncertain times. Thank you for making this happen!

Kudos to the EMBA-Chicago Class of 2021!

The cohort was less than three months into the program when Father Jenkins announced that all classes would transition to online as a safety precaution. The students decided to organize a fundraiser for Chicago school children, many who would go without some of their regular meals as the schools closed down. The result was the "5x5" campaign -- donate $5 and send a request to five other people. With the help of friends, family and Mendoza faculty members, they eventually raised $5,545 for a total of 16,650 meals.

You feel a little helpless cooped up at home,” said Kendall Raymond, who spearheaded the effort. “We hope that by banding together with and for our community during these times we can live out the Notre Dame Mendoza mission and make a small difference in the lives of others. Good news among all the chaos in the world is so important.”

“During these times, the natural default is to hunker down, take care of yourself, your loved ones and employees, and forget about those affected even more,” said Walt Clements, associate dean of Executive Education at Mendoza College of Business. “The leadership and compassion shown by Kendall and her Class of ʼ21 members are powerful reminders to us all of our connection to each other and those in need. They are of great value along with the money we are raising for a great cause.”
