Kudos

Last Thursday, Executive Education held its first Virtual Welcome Event for the incoming M.S. in Finance Class of 2021. Usually this event is a cocktail hour-type event held in Chicago for students to get to know one another and faculty and staff in the program. The team worked hard to recreate this atmosphere at their virtual event. They randomly assigned students into breakout groups and gave them ice breaker questions (Are you Marvel or DC? Flying or teleportation?). Almost every incoming student attended. Thank you to Sam Crisp, Cathi Kennedy, Shane McCoy, Brooke Shannon, Morgan McCoy, Gianna Bern and Walt Clements for making this event a positive experience for students.

For the past 18 months, the Fanning Center, under the direction of Amanda McKendree, has prepared to host the Management Communication Association Conference scheduled for next month. Although the conference is postponed until 2021, MCA members met virtually this past Friday to share best practices for teaching virtual communication courses during a pandemic. Here's a look at the communication faculty from the top business programs around the world.
