Mendoza’s Department of Accountancy co-sponsored the “FARS Ladies” networking event at the FARS Mid-year Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. The event was attended by Mendoza accountancy professors Stephannie Larocque and Jessica Watkins, as well as by many female faculty and doctoral students from universities across the country.

Mike Chapple's interview for Notre Dame's With a Side of Knowledge topped the podcast's charts, earning the most hits for all of the podcast produced during 2019. In the episode originally released on Aug. 29, Mike joined host Ted Fox to talk about cryptocurrency — both to explain what it and other terms like “blockchain” and “Bitcoin” mean and to discuss the proposal for Facebook's cryptocurrency Libra. He also shared his thoughts on how to address broader issues related to data security and privacy, including the problem with Social Security numbers.
